OAKLAND RAIDERS VS. SAN DIEGO CHARGERSSo, the season has begun and you realize that someone on your roster is garbage or hurt and won’t help you out at all.  You feel that there has to be someone available that will bolster your lineup and chances are you are right.  Check your waiver wire for these players and they will surely add some much needed depth to your roster.

Mike Bell, RB New Orleans Saints- Bell had 143 rushing yards in week 1… Enough said. Now, I know what you’re thinking. What happens when Pierre Thomas returns? Well, Bell will still be a nice flex option in 12-team mixed leagues. He will get his touches and put up good numbers when he gets those touches. Meanwhile we’re still not sure when Thomas will be back and Reggie Bush is looking more and more like a bust as every game passes.

Michael Bush, RB Oakland Raiders- 55 yards rushing and 1TD. He will get carries this year and will get goal line duties also. He’ll get 10-15 carries a game until Justin Fargas is back but we all know that Fargas can’t stay healthy. Look for the Raiders to lean on Bush along with starter Darren McFadden to keep the offense going. The Raiders can run the ball and JaMarcus Russell is having trouble throwing the ball so you can expect Bush to be a nice flex option in 12-team or deeper mixed leagues.

Darren Sproles, RB San Diego Chargers- It looks as though LaDanian Tomlinson was injured a little more seriously than originally thought. He was seen limping badly after the game and the Chargers will not risk losing him for an extended period of time. Enter Sproles who is a great backup RB. He will most likely see a boost in touches and a bump in fantasy value as a result. He is a great handcuff for LT owners and should be rostered at this juncture in the season. LT will concede carries to Sproles if only to keep him fresh for the entire season but either way, Sproles is the add in this situation.

Justin Gage, WR Tennessee Titans- Look for Gage to be Kerry Collins’ go to guy. He is the #2 WR on the Depth Chart but don’t be mistaken, he will be the most productive WR on that roster. In the opener he had 7 catches for 78 yards and 1 TD. He will be targeted quite a bit, well quite a bit for Titans standards. He is a great pick up in PPR leagues and will anywhere from 5-10 per game.

Louis Murphy, WR Oakland Raiders- Murphy looks like another go to guy for Russell to throw to along with Zach Miller. He’s big at 6’3″ and 205 lbs. and he can catch the ball unlike some of his Raider counterparts. Unless of course you watch a replay and determine that for no good reason at all you want to overturn a TD. I was at the game last night and watched as Russell, Murphy, the Raiders and the Raider Nation were robbed of what would have been a tremendous play to end the first half. Anyway, Murphy looks like a guy that can be counted on judging by his first NFL game line of 4 receptions for 87 yards and 1 TD. If the previously noted catch hadn’t been overturned his line would have read something like this 5 catches for 106 yards and 2 TDs. Those are numbers that anyone can use.
