So, the season is in full swing and you suddenly realize that someone on your roster is garbage or hurt and won’t help you out at all. You feel that there has to be someone available that will bolster your lineup and chances are you are right. Check your waiver wire for these players and they will surely add some much needed depth to your roster.
Mario Manningham, WR New York Giants- He very might well have taken over the #1 WR spot in NY with his first two weeks of solid play. He is a very athletic receiver that has shown the skills needed to go get the ball. Plus he knows what to do with the ball after he catches it. It looks as if he is becoming a favorite target of Eli Manning and that should continue next week. Injuries to Domenik Hixon and Hakeem Nicks have opened the door for Manningham to show what he is capable of. Tampa Bay will give a ton of passing yards this week and you can expect Manningham to be the recipient of a lot of those passing yards.
Justin Forsett, RB Seattle Seahawks- Julius Jones won’t be the starter all season. He just isn’t good enough. And does anyone think Edgerin James has anything left in the tank? Read the rest of this entry »

This is not a joke. This is 100% truth here and who better in the NBA or any sport to have there own CHANNEL than LeBron James? Not just a TV show but his very own channel that he would be completely in charge of. He could play 24 hours straight, day in and day out of his favorite cartoons if he wanted to. Or, he could play replays of that night’s game or some crazy reality show involving himself or half naked women running around washing cars if he wanted to.
Why do I even bring this up, do you ask? Well, the New York Knicks, owned by James Dolan, who also owns Cablevision has come up with the most brilliant idea ever when it comes to recruiting a free agent. Technically, he isn’t recruiting LeBron because that would be a violation of NBA rules since he is still under contract with the Cleveland Cavaliers. But, word did get out that to increase the appeal of LeBron coming to New York as a free agent, Dolan (or someone else) accidentally let it slip out that this was their plan to up the ante in their efforts to land the best current player in the NBA.

Mike Bell, RB New Orleans Saints- Bell had 143 rushing yards in week 1… Enough said. Now, I know what you’re thinking. What happens when Pierre Thomas returns? Well, Bell will still be a nice flex option in 12-team mixed leagues. He will get his touches and put up good numbers when he gets those touches. Meanwhile we’re still not sure when Thomas will be back and Reggie Bush is looking more and more like a bust as every game passes.

Every year there are a few players that in the league that seem blow up out of nowhere and this year is no different. The only difference between this year and every other year is that it seems as though almost every team has a sleeper candidate. Here is a breakdown of sleeper candidates by position for the 2009 season. Some of these guys might already be on your sleeper list while some might be new to you. Good luck.
Quarterbacks: The QB position is really tough to find sleepers in unless there is an injury involved. Nobody drafts a QB that isn’t a starter and if you are a starting QB in the NFL everybody knows about you. So, here is a list of QBs that aren’t really sleepers but more like a group of QBs that will outperform expectations.

Here is the list of running backs and their projected value for the 2009 Fantasy Football Season. I’ve taken the liberty of listing each player’s bye week along with their auction value. I hope this helps you out in your quest for a Fantasy Football Championship. Remember, these ranks are set for standard Fantasy Football Leagues. If you are in a PPR League you will have to add some value for players like Maurice Jones-Drew or Matt Forte. In a PPR League, MJD might be worth more than Michael Turner or even Adrian Peterson. Keep checking back because these rankings will change as the preseason goes on and the regular season nears.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell has finally made a decision on when he will allow Michael Vick to play in a regular season game. Week 3 is when we will be graced with Vick’s presence on the football field. How much playing time will Vick see remains to be seen. I wouldn’t count on him doing too much though.
Now, if Donovan McNabb gets hurt, then we’ll have something to talk about. I expect to see Vick play a few snaps in the wildcat format but not much more. It will take a couple weeks for the Eagles to expand on the Vick part of the playbook. But, at least we know when he will be allowed to tease us again.
