The Pirates are ready to deal again. This time in the form of their only All-Star, Freddy Sanchez. That would mean that if he is traded before Tuesday, the Pittsburgh Pirates won’t have a representative for the Mid-Summer Classic. MLB has informed Charlie Manuel that he does not have to select a replacement from the Pirates if this happens.
Now, the San Francisco Giants and the Colorado Rockies are rumored to be interested along with “several other teams” according to the Pirates. The interesting thing here is that the Rockies are rumored to be offering Eric Young Jr. who has a mere 47 SB already this year in the minors. If he were to be added to the Pirates roster he would become an instant must add player. The guy is a threat to steal every single time he is on the bases. If you can afford to stash him on your roster, I suggest you do. I just added him in my keeper league about five minutes ago.
