Here is a list of some of the more notable players that may or may not play in week 9.
Steven Jackson RB: St. Louis Rams RB Steven Jackson (quadriceps) did limited work during practice Friday, Oct. 31. He took less than a third of the reps during practice. He will be a game-time decision for the team’s Week 9 game. (Yahoo! Sports)
Brian Westbrook RB: Westbrook (ribs) is probable for Sunday’s game. Feel free to start him with full confidence.
Joseph Addai RB: Joseph Addai (hamstring) is expected to return to the starting lineup and see limited playing time in the New England game Sunday night. Addai has taken part in both practices this week. (Yahoo! Sports)
Clinton Portis RB: Portis (ankle) is probable for Monday’s game.
Larry Johnson RB: ESPNews reports the NFL has suspended Kansas City Chiefs RB Larry Johnson without pay for violating the personal conduct policy. (KFFL)
Reggie Wayne WR: Wayne (knee) participated in practice on Friday and says he’ll be ready to play despite a questionable designation on the injury report. “I’m ready to go,” he told the Indianapolis Star.
Willis McGahee RB: McGahee (ankle, questionable) was listed as a limited participant at Friday’s practice, but should be able to play Sunday against the Browns, ESPN’s John Clayton reports.
Tony Romo QB: Romo (pinkie finger) won’t start throwing a football again until next week, the Dallas Morning News reports.
Santana Moss WR: Ryan O’Halloran, of The Washington Times, reports Washington Redskins WR Santana Moss (hamstring) did some straight ahead running Saturday, Nov. 1. He is optimistic about his chances of playing during Week 9. Head coach Jim Zorn said he remains a game-time decision.
Willie Parker RB: Parker (knee) completed practice on Saturday and remains on track to play Monday night, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Darren McFadden RB: RB Darren McFadden did not practice with left turf toe and, if he doesn’t practice Friday, probably will be inactive for the second straight game. (Yahoo! Sports)
Brandon Marshall WR: WR Brandon Marshall (groin) is expected to play Sunday. (Yahoo! Sports)
Chad Johnson (Ocho Cinco): Mark Curnutte, of the Cincinnati Enquirer, reports Cincinnati Bengals WR Chad Johnson (foot) was limited in practice Friday, Oct. 31, and is probable for Week 9. Johnson is expected to play in the game. (KFFL)
Carson Palmer QB: QB Carson Palmer (right elbow) is resting this week and is out for the Jaguars. The next hope for him to play is Nov. 16 against the Eagles, after the bye Nov. 9. (Yahoo! Sports)
Jason Witten TE: Witten (ribs) will travel with the Cowboys to the Meadowlands, but will be a game-time decision on Sunday, the Dallas Morning News reports.
Ben Roethliberger QB: Roethlisberger returned to the practice field and will start. He has a sore shoulder, but it’s not prevented him from playing all season. (Yahoo! Sports)
All Four Denver RBs: Selvin Young (groin) is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Dolphins. So are Michael Pittman, Ryan Torain and Andre Hall. With all four backs listed as questionable, it’s a little hard to predict how the carries will be divided up Sunday and we are pretty sure coach Mike Shanahan doesn’t mind that fantasy owners, as well as the Dolphins, are unsure with regards to what to expect out of the Denver run game this week.
