Steven Jackson worked with the first team Friday during practice, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports. “I thought he did OK. I’ll have to see how he feels,” coach Jim Haslett said. “I thought he got better as the week went on. I’ll talk to him and we’ll make a decision by the game.” Jackson will probably suit up for the game on Sunday against the Dolphins unless he happens to have a setback before then. I don’t know if he is a very safe play though. Miami’s run D is pretty stout and Jackson most likely wont be at 100%.

Wide receiver Plaxico Burress was expected to miss the team’s week 13 game against Washington with an injured right hamstring. Now, reports out of New York are saying that Burress accidentally shot himself in the leg Friday night while attending a night club.
The New York Giants team officials are not commenting on the incident as of yet. “I don’t have anything for you at this stage,” Giants spokesman Pat Hanlon told The Associated Press from Giants Stadium. The gunshot wound is not believed to be life threatening. This is just another blemish for Burress who was fined by the Giants earlier this year for not attending a team meeting without giving a reason. He was also fined by the NFL for conduct on the field earlier this year during a game against the 49ers. Read the rest of this entry »

Here is a quick refresher. 5 cat league, points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks. Start 2 guards, 2 forwards, 1 center and 1 utility.
Week 4 turned out to be a bounce back week for me in my H2H league. I wound up winning the week 4-1. I started Jason Kidd, Joe Johnson, Amare Stoudemire, Andrei Kirilenko, Marcus Camby, and Rajon Rondo. My opponent went with Chris Paul, Tracy McGrady, Chris Bosh, Tim Duncan, Samuel Dalembert and John Salmons. My magic fantasy stat predictor (which should be available to everyone soon) told me that that I would have no chance in points at all, rebounds and assists would be toss ups, I would win steals in lopsided fashion and blocks shouldn’t be a problem for me either. Well, it was right. I lost points by 60, won rebounds by 1, won assists by 23 (thanks to Kirilenko going nuts), won steals by 10 and won blocks by 11. Now I am currently sitting in second place at 14-6. Read the rest of this entry »

Clinton Portis- In the first half of the team’s Week 12 game, Redskins RB Clinton Portis pulled a muscle near his hip area. He remained the game, but coach Jim Zorn hadd prepared RB Shaun Alexander to finish the second half if Portis hadn’t been able to go.
Reggie Bush- Jay Glazer, of FOXSports.com, reports New Orleans Saints RB Reggie Bush (knee) will not play in Week 12 despite practicing all week. Bush sat out the team’s Sunday, Nov. 23, walkthrough, but his knee was still too sore to return to full action and the team doesn’t want to push him back too early, according to some Saints players. Bush is also questionable for week 13. Read the rest of this entry »

T-Mac on the trainer
Tracy McGrady and Shane Battier both practiced on tuesday. For battier, this was his first full practice of the season. McGrady was injured Monday night when he re-aggravated his surgically repaired knee. McGrady thought about having an MRI on the knee, but decided that the test was not necessary and with the help of team officials, decided to practice instead.
Yao Ming and Ron Artest skipped practice after sustaining slight injuries Tuesdat night. Both said they will be ready for their game against Dallas on Wednesday, however.
Battier will still need a few more practices under his belt after missing so much time with swelling in his foot after having offseason surgery.

Miami Heat Guard Dwayne Wade sat out practice on Monday to nurse a slightly sprained ankle. He injured the ankle in the 3rd quarter of Sunday’s game. He is hopeful that he will be able to play on Tuesday. Wade has played through nagging injuries like this one before. He is currently 2nd in the league in scoring at 27.9 ppg. He is a gametime decision but most likely will play through the injury. Consider him a slight downgrade for this week but still a solid play.

Brandon Jacobs left Sunday’s game in the 2nd quarter and returned in the 3rd for two more carries because of an apparent knee injury. Jacobs had a precautionary MRI done on his knee today. Coach Tom Coughlin doesn’t seem to be too worried about it so you shouldn’t be either. This is more of a case where it was safer to keep him out of the game due to Ahmad Bradshaw and Derrick Ward filling in nicely. No need to risk anything, right? View Jacobs as a must start RB in week 12 as the MRI came back negative late Monday night. There was no damage found so rest easy and plan on using Jacobs next week.

Joe Johnson has become a must start in all fantasy formats.
Here is a quick refresher. 5 cat league, points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks. Start 2 guards, 2 forwards, 1 center and 1 utility.
Okay, so my week 3 team failed me. I wound up losing 2-3 without the help of Andrei Kirilenko for 3 1/2 games. I can’t complain however, because I was going up against Josh Howard who missed 1 game in week 3. I started Jason Kidd, Joe Johnson, Amare Stoudemire, Andrei Kirilenko, Richard Jefferson and Rajon Rondo while my opponent started Andre Iguodala, Stephen Jackson, Gerald Wallace, Josh Howard, Dwight Howard, and Rasheed Wallace.

“Earnest Graham’s ankle looks to be a serious injury,” Gruden said,” and his status for the rest of the season is very much in question right now.” That is what Tampa Bay Bucs coach John Gruden had to say about the ankle injury Graham suffered on his first carry of the game this past Sunday. If Graham is unable to go, look for Warrick Dunn to take over the majority of carries with Carnell “Cadillac” Williams, fresh off the PUP list, to steal a few down the road. Week 12 should prove fruitful for Dunn as the the Bucs face the Detroit Lions. Deangelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart both rushed for over 100 yards against the Lions in week 11. That was the first time in carolina Panthers history that two backs have rushed for over 100 yards each in the same game. It remains to be seen who will receive the goalline carries for TB with B.J. Askew in the mix, but Dunn is definitely the back to grab if he is still available in your waiver wire.

Both Andrei Kirilenko and Mehmet Okur are missed by the Jazz.
Andrei Kirilenko- Kirilenko says that he will be ready to play Monday November 17. The fact that he says he will be ready to play should indicate that the injury is not as bad as previously thought. Feel free to start him with confidence. The injury might still affect his stat line a bit but it shouldn’t do to much damage overall.
Deron Williams- Williams missed another game due to his ankle that he sprained in preseason. He came back for a few games but it looks as though it might have been a little too soon. When on the court he is devastating for fantasy owners but who knows when he will be able to get on the court again. Right now it doesn’t look like he will play Monday but nothing is set in stone.
